Andrew is an exceptionally talented portrait painter in my North London neighbourhood of Crouch End. He paints entirely from memory, making each piece an intuitive, in-the-moment experience. A longtime musician, he has an incredible ability to recall structure and shape—both in sound and on canvas.

Back in December, I visited Andrew again to see how his year-long project was coming together—12 portraits, each created over a different month, to raise awareness for the Hornsey Food Bank. When I arrived, he was carefully adding the final touches to a few pieces, but I managed to capture a shot of him alongside the full collection.
